Role

Our Digital, Data and Technology department is driving transformation at TPR to deliver positive outcome for savers across the UK. We’re looking for a Senior Desktop Engineer to join our team in providing dedicated 2nd and 3rd line technical support to our 1000+ colleagues who are a combination of both office based and work from home users.

Working in a Microsoft environment, you’ll maintain and develop the desktop support function, take ownership of laptop builds ensuring best practice, and proactively monitor and prioritise incoming supports requests on the ticket system. In addition, you’ll manage the installation, patching and feature updates for our Windows 10/11 operating system and Microsoft 365 suite as well as other business applications, and maintain our Apple mobile phones applications and policies.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to assist our project teams with the implementation and deployment of software upgrades, new systems, and services in the organisation.

Responsibilities

SCCM/Intune

  • Application packaging and delivery.
  • Take ownership of the laptop build process, ensuring it is managed to best practice and built to meet TPR’s standard build policy.
  • SCCM/Intune package maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain task sequences for laptop builds.
  • Monitoring patching for Windows10, O365 and non-Microsoft applications.
  • Driver updates.
  • Deployments using PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit and Microsoft Win32 Content Prep Tool.
  • Develop MI as required for software update reports, software, and hardware asset tracking and more.
  • Management of the corporate mobile devices.
  • Maintaining boundary groups.
  • Assist with policies maintenance Intune/GPO migration.
  • Assist with new policy creation and configuration settings in Intune.
  • Assist with security vulnerabilities remediation.
  • Advise with equipment refresh.

General role

  • Proactive monitoring and prioritisation of incoming supports requests on the ticket system.
  • Project work – assisting the project team with the implementation and deployment of software upgrades, new systems, and services in the organisation.
  • Develop and maintain support documentation.
  • Meeting agreed SLAs for assigned work.
  • Establishing root cause of incidents and mitigating re-occurrence.
  • Develop and mentor more junior members of the team.

Essential criteria

  • Good working knowledge and experience with SCCM and/or Intune experience.
  • Extensive hands-on experience of supporting Windows 10/11 and O365 in an enterprise environment.
  • Extensive experience of Active Directory and Group Policies.
  • PowerShell scripting experience & PS App Deployment Toolkit.
  • Good working knowledge of Lenovo and Apple hardware.
  • Entra ID and Azure administration.
