Request

  1. How many TPR employees over the last two years have been paid in lieu of notice (PILON)?
  2. Of these individuals how many of these had to have authorisation by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)?
  3. Circumstance of which they were offered PILON.

The answers to your questions are as follows:

  1. November 2021 to December 2023: 20

  2. All non-standard dismissal cases are referred to DWP who will then usually seek guidance from Cabinet Office:
    • The Redundancies and Settlement Agreements follow the same process as non-standard dismissal cases. In the period for the last two years, seven cases were referred to DWP.
    • All standard dismissals can have PILON applied locally as per our policies and this activity is considered business as usual.
